The Cherne Process:
In non-walk-in pipes an inspection packer is installed at the joint under camera supervision, which when inflated forms a defined and properly tight testing chamber along the joint.

With leaking joints one can inject the joint immediately with gel and pressure test again.

In walk-in diameters (circular and egg-shaped) manually installed equipment fir for the respective cross-section are used.
